1. What’s the story behind how your business started?
We wanted to bring a fresh and positive vibe to the Yellowknife community, which we truly respect and love. During the 2023 evacuation, we began thinking about something simple but delicious that could bring people comfort and excitement. When we opened our shop in April 2024, that idea came to life; introducing Asian-style breads and buns paired with rich, creamy bubble milk tea. It’s comfort food with a fun, vibrant twist.
2. What makes your shop unique in the neighbourhood?
We’re the only Asian pastry shop in the North offering authentic, soft, buttery, and flavourful Asian breads paired with bubble milk tea. This combination has made our small shop a place where both locals and visitors love to stop by and discover something different.
3. What do you love most about serving this community?
People in Yellowknife are incredibly open-minded and curious about trying new cuisines. The support from both locals and tourists has been amazing, they keep coming back and truly make us feel like part of the community.
4. What’s something surprising people might not know about your business or industry?
All of our pastries are made from homemade recipes. Our dough is soft, enriched with butter and milk, and everything is made fresh daily. We carefully select high-quality ingredients to ensure consistency and great taste.
5. What’s your favourite thing about being on “Main Street”?
We’re proud to be located on Franklin Avenue in the heart of downtown Yellowknife. This prime location brings together office workers, students, locals, and tourists, with shopping, dining, and city attractions just steps away. Surrounded by supportive local businesses, we love being part of a vibrant, connected downtown community.
